Traffic Stop Nets Arrest & Cocaine

On June 1, 2023 Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Agents conducted a traffic stop in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Center Church Rd. The vehicle which was occupied by Jose Reyes (32) of Roanoke Rapids was searched after a positive alert for the odor of narcotics by a Sheriff’s Office K-9. During the course of the search a concealed handgun as well as Cocaine was located inside the vehicle. 

Reyes was arrested and charged with Felony possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, carrying a concealed gun, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Reyes was taken before a Lee County Magistrate and issued a $20,000 unsecured bond.
