Reward Offered for Information

On 02/27/2022 at around 1:35am the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service to a white in color Kia in the woods off of Hwy US #1 near Colon Rd. The initial call came in from the Sanford Police Department where an individual had called for assistance on behalf of the person(s) in the vehicle. It was discovered that one of the two females, ages 20 and 28, that were in the vehicle had been shot. A decision to transport the shooting victim to Central Carolina Hospital was made by the people at that location prior to first responders getting there. This incident is currently under investigation.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is requesting that anyone travelling on or near Hwy US #1 between Spring Lane and Farrell Rd during the hours of 12:00am and 2:00am on 02/27/2022 that may have information about this incident are urged to please contact us.

We are also asking that anyone with any information that could assist in this investigation regardless of whether or not you were on Hwy US #1 during the time and date given above, please contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
