Investigation Pays Off with Arrests, Drugs & Recovered Stolen Firearm


On Friday, June 2, 2023, Agents with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division concluded a long-term investigation involving an individual that was distributing pressed Fentanyl pills from a residence on San Lee Drive as well as South Park Apartments in Sanford, NC. 

Agents were able to purchase large amounts of pressed Fentanyl pills from the suspect, Victor Lemus, on multiple occasions in several different locations within Lee County. 

During the course of the investigation agents were able to identify multiple locations that were connected to Lemus’ drug enterprise. On June 2nd agents executed search warrants at multiple locations within Lee County that were tied to the investigation.

As a result of the investigation over 200 pressed fentanyl pills were seized as well as approximately 50 THC vape cartridges and a stolen rifle.

Victor Manuel Lemus, 33, of 1023 San Lee Dr. Sanford, NC was arrested for 10 counts of Trafficking Heroin/Opium, 3 counts of Maintaining a Vehicle for Control Substance, 1 count PWIMSD SCH II CS, 1 count of Sell and Deliver SCH II CS, 1 Count of PWISD Marijuana, and 4 counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Lemus was placed in the Lee County Jail and given a $200,000 secure bond. 

A second person, Kailey Breann Anderson, 18, of 1023 San Lee Dr. Sanford, NC was arrested for 2 counts of Conspiracy to Traffick Heroin/Opium, 1 count of Maintaining a Dwelling for Control Substance. Kailey was placed in the Lee County Jail and given a $200,000 secured bond. 

Thank you to the hard work and dedication of our Narcotic’s Division for arresting these individuals that are distributing poison in OUR community. As I have stated before the Lee County Sheriff’s Office will not tolerate this sort of behavior and will tirelessly go after the people that take part in destroying lives.
