Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest with Drug and Firearm Possession

On May 9th, 2023, Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Agents arrested Rashon Ali Bethea (49) of Sanford during a traffic stop conducted on Beulah Brown Road. Bethea was found to be in possession of a concealed rifle, which he was prohibited from possessing as a result of a prior felony conviction. Bethea was also in possession of Marijuana.

Bethea was arrested and charged with Possession of Firearm by Felon, Possess Marijuana up to ½ Ounce, Carrying Concealed Gun, and Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia.

Bethea was brought before the Lee County Magistrate, who issued a $35,000 Secured Bond.
