Teacher Arrested For Sexual Abuse

UPDATE AS OF NOV 18TH
On November 18, 2022 in a Lee County courtroom,  Allen went before Judge Wells for his first appearance. Allen’s bond was modified from $250,000.00 to $2,000,000.00 Secured. Allen was transferred back to Central Prison in Raleigh NC for housing until he’s expected to return to a Lee county courtroom in January of 2023.

On November 2, 2022, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a report regarding an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and student at San-Lee Middle School. The teacher was identified as Andrew Braxton Allen of Siler City. Through further investigation and the cooperation of the Lee County School System, it was revealed that Allen had numerous inappropriate relationships with several students throughout his tenure, 2012 – 2022, at San Lee Middle School. Investigators have identified multiple minor children that have been victims of sexual abuse committed by Allen.

On November 14, 2022, a Grand Jury indictment was issued against Allen for the following charges, Statutory Sex Offense with a Child by an Adult, Indecent Liberties with a Child, and Sexual Activity with a Student.

On November 17, 2022, Andrew Braxton Allen, 32 was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for the afore-mentioned charges regarding sexual abuse. Allen was presented before the Lee County Magistrate, where he received a $250,000.00 secured bond. He is being transferred from the Lee County Jail to Central Prison in Raleigh NC for housing.  

This investigation is ongoing.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is requesting that any parents that had students that were taught by Andrew Braxton Allen during his tenure at San-Lee Middle School to speak with their child(ren) about any possible inappropriate conduct. If it is found or even suspected that your child may have been a victim please contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office so that follow up can be done.

Please understand how very important it is to speak with your child(ren) to ensure that no young person is left with an undiscovered, untreated, lasting, and traumatizing memory. The second reason is to make sure that any possible victims have the opportunity to come forward and to have a voice that could lead to further prosecution.
