Traffic Stop in Broadway Nets Arrest

On Tuesday, June 15^th, 2021, at approximately 6:30 pm Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents conducted a vehicle stop on a grey in color Nissan Altima on Main Street in Broadway, NC. At the time of the stop the Nissan Altima was bearing a fictitious registration plate. Once stopped agents made contact with the operator, Lyle Dudley Vanderwalker, age 44, of 3996 Center Church Road, Sanford. Vanderwalker was operating the vehicle with no insurance, a fictitious registration plate, and driving on a suspended license. A short time after confirming all the above information agents discovered that Vandwerwalker was found to be in possession of approximately one gram of crystal methamphetamine. Vanderwalker was transported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Vanderwalker is charged with one count of felony possession of crystal methamphetamine, and cited on a uniform citation for the driving infractions. Vanderwalker was released on a $10,000.00 unsecured bond.
