Joint Operation Nets Arrest of 18 Year Old

David Neal Smith (18) of 1226 Colon Rd. Sanford was arrested and charged with 9 counts of 2nd degree exploitation of a minor. These charges involve distributing and receiving child pornography from February 2021 thru March 2021. This investigation began in March 2021 by Lee County Sheriff Office. Lee County Sheriff detectives were assisted by Sanford PD, Chatham County Sheriff’s Office and the NC SBI ICAC taskforce investigators.

Smith was held under $500,000 secured bond.
