Friendly Rides taxi service comes with more than just a friendly smile...


On 5/8/2024 Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics agents conducted a traffic stop on Third St. near Alcott St. in Sanford, NC. 

As agents initiated the traffic stop the driver of the Van (Friendly Rides) threw an item from the open window. The item was located and determined to be crack cocaine. 

The driver, William Lee Roddey (59) was arrested for Possession with Intent to Manufacture sale and Deliver Cocaine, Felony Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Roddey was taken before the Lee County Magistrate and is in the Lee County Jail under a $20,000 bond.
