Citizen Complaint Leads to Drug Arrest


Deputies and Lee County Narcotics Agents were in the area of Jefferson Davis Highway near Carthage Street in response to citizen complaints of narcotics sales and activity in the area. 

Agents conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Crissdee Ward Ashley (52). During the traffic stop, agents located concealed narcotics on the exterior of Ashley’s vehicle. Approximately 25 grams of Methamphetamine, approximately 6 grams of Fentanyl, 12 dosage units of Suboxone Sublingual Film, and 5 dosage units of Hydrocodone were located on the vehicle.

Ashley was arrested and charged with Trafficking Opioid by Transport, Trafficking Opioid by Possession, two counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Schedule III Controlled Substance, Maintaining a Vehicle for Sale of Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Ashley was brought before the Lee County Magistrate who issued a $250,000 Secured Bond.
