Late Monday night, August 16, at approximately 10:00pm while working complaints on the northern end of the county. Lee County Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents initiated a traffic stop on an early 2000 model BMW bearing a fictitious registration plate as it entered the Econo Lodge, located at 1403 N Horner Blvd, Sanford, NC 27330. During the course of the investigation, agents learned that the operator of the vehicle, Ronald Haywood Stone, age 30, of 215 Hickory Avenue, Sanford, was operating the vehicle while his NC driver’s license had been suspended. Agents also learned, that the operator and passenger were both in possession of marijuana. Further into the investigation agents discovered the female passenger, Francella Dominique Kelly, age 31, of 215 Hickory Avenue, Sanford, was in possession of 42 dosage units of Percocet 7.5 milligram, prescription pills, packaged in a clear plastic zip lock bag. Kelly was processed for two counts of trafficking, one charge for transporting, and the second for possession with the intent to sell and deliver, one count of simple possession of marijuana and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Kelly is jailed under a $150,000.00 secured bond.
