Sanford Man Arrested For Drugs Following Two Month Investigation

In the course of a two month investigation, Lee county Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents were able to purchase on four separate occasions heroin from Lewis Jermaine Reid, age 34, of 580 Beulah Brown Road, Sanford. On three of the four occasions Reid sold less than trafficking amounts of heroin/fentanyl mixture to an undercover, and on one occasion Reid sold a trafficking amount of heroin to an undercover.

On Tuesday July 6th, 2021, agents of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office secured warrants for Reid’s arrested and at approximately 3:00pm agents located and arrested Lewis Jermaine Reid. Agents received information in regards to Reid’s current location and began conducting surveillance. Agents observed Lewis Jermaine Reid leave a residence located at 529 Bracken Street, Sanford. Agents conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle occupied by Reid and without incident Reid was taken into custody. Lewis Jermaine Reid was transported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Reid is charged with 4 counts of felony possession with the intent to sell and deliver heroin, 4 counts of sell and deliver heroin, one count of trafficking heroin by possession, one count of trafficking by transportation, one count of trafficking by sell, 4 counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Lewis Jermaine Reid was jailed under a $350,000.00 secured bond.
