On 04-29-2021 at approximately 1500hrs the Lee County Sheriff’s Office was requested to assist NC Probation with locating MICHAEL CRAIG WRIGHT DOWD at 118 Nutbush Lane Sanford NC 27332.
Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office and NC Probation surrounded 118 Nutbush Lane in Sanford and located the fugitive inside a hot water heater closet under several sleeping bags. DOWD was taking into custody without incident and processed at the Lee County Detention Facility. DOWD was placed in the Lee County Jail with a $29,000.00 Secured Bond. DOWD was WANTED on 8 separate failure to appears and had Absconded from NC Probation in order to avoid an impending stint in NC Department of Corrections. DOWD has an additional 11 separate criminal charges still pending in court.
