Wednesday October 13, 2021, at approximately 6:00pm Lee County Sheriff’s Office narcotics agents were following up on information supplied by anonymous callers living in the area. Agents observed a silver in color passenger car at Don’s Value Mart occupied by three white male subjects. Agents ran the vehicle registration plate and found that the registration tag was expired/cancelled. Agents stopped the small silver in color Saturn four door passenger car at the intersection of Edwards Road and Sheriff Watson Road. During the course of the traffic stop, agents discovered the driver Joshua Perry Hodge, age 20, of 217 Fountain Wood drive. Sanford, was in possession 16 oxycodone 10 mg pills packaged in a white plastic bag and 7 oxycodone/acetaminophen 10/325 pills in white in color plastic prescription pill type bottle. Hodge had tried to discard the plastic bag by throwing it on the ground and the pill bottle Hodge had hidden in his groin area. Agents also discovered that the passenger Brian Anthony Morris was found in possession of the same type white plastic bag containing 20 oxycodone 10mg pills and 15 oxycodone/acetaminophen 10/325 in the actual prescription bottle prescribed to Morris.
Both Hodge and Morris were taken into custody and transported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Joshua Hodge was processed and charged with one count of simple possession schedule II controlled substance, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Brian Anthony Morris one count of trafficking opium/heroin, one count of possession with the intent a scheduled II controlled substance, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Brian Perry Hodge was released on a $6,000.00 unsecured bond, and Brian Anthony Morris was released on a $250,000.00 unsecured bond.
